When I Get A Job...
Being out of work makes it oh-so-apparent that I just never spent my money very wisely. That's not to say I don't enjoy what I've bought, or that what I bought wasn't worth what I paid; most of it I do enjoy and is very much worth the purchase (and those that know me well, know that I probably got these things for very cheap or sometimes free).
But, now that I'm out of work I find myself once again saying, nearly every day, "I'll buy this when I get a job", or, "That's at the top of my list of things to buy". So, I thought I'd compile a short list here, mostly so I don't forget what I need to buy when I actually can.
HARD DRIVES
Hard drives are cheap right now. I mean, so ridiculously cheap that not buying a bigger hard drive or two is probably a sin lying somewhere between murdering babies and drowning a kitten. 1TB for $100? $90? $60?! I really need a job. I can replace FOUR old used up drives in my main comp (red5) in one fell swoop.
An extra spindle of DVD-R's
So when I'm about to run out, I, don't.
Ink
My printer is out again. Next time I'm buying a backup.
A new printer... or two
Could really use a printer I can hook up to the router to use from anywhere, and one with a flatbed scanner.
Shelves
I am out of space in my room and desperatly need to put the toys and knick knacks somewhere...
An extra PSU
When a power supply goes on a computer, it's nice to just have a spare and not have any downtime.
Some sort of IR receiver
For my HTPC. I'm currently thinking a Tira 2.1 OEM and using Event Ghost.
A Large Flash Drive
Solid state flash drives have gotten pretty cheap... not cheap enough to replace one of my main hard drives, but I can pick up a 16 GB flash drive for something like $30 easy - I think with some patience I could get a good sale on one and get it for $10-$20. I could even just get a 8GB drive for about $10 and still be better off than the 2GB I currently have.
Multiple, large SD cards
Again, $30 can get me sweet 16GB SDHC card, which comes in handy sometimes.
New Glasses
Practical but still needed. These are getting pretty old.
Old Video Game Consoles
I love old game consoles. Still need a lot, here's a few from the top of my head: Atari Jaguar, Sega CD, Sega 32x, Sega Master System, Sega Naomi, Sega GameGear, Wonderswan, Nintendo Virtual Boy.
New Video Game Consoles
A PS3 and a DSi would be nice. Maybe an extra 360 and another Wii?
Modchip for my Sega Saturn
Damnit I bought the sucker for this express purpose and it's just sitting there! Even just some games, anything...
Well, that is it for now. I'm sure I'll be adding the list as new things pop into my head.
