When All Else Fails, DIY
I want to build a MAME cabinet. For those not in the know, MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. MAME itself is an emulator of arcade games with the intent of preserving gaming history and preventing vintage games from being lost or forgotten. This is an application anyone can run on their home computer, which in turn runs ROMS; basically images of arcade games dumped to a file. You might recognize the ROM portion as pertaining to CD-ROM's; ROM simply stands for Read Only Memory, meaning it is data which can not be changed, but is rather simply read.

Once Again Proving I'm A Middle Aged Woman
A flickr user has posted their awesome collection of homemade DIY perler bead video game coasters (and magnets too!) I've seen this popping up lately, and I think it's really cool, despite how "girly" it may seem. I think this coming week I'm going to be making some myself; I really want a Mario Mushroom to put on the fridge.
Phoenix Wright Sweeps the Nation
Phoenix Wright has been popping up everywhere lately. The starring character of the popular Nintendo DS video game (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney), the pointy-haired pointing-fingered attorney has captured our hearts and our souls alike. So it comes as no surprise that he's made his way to a variety of media besides video games: from websites to t-shirts, Phoenix has a loyal fanbase . For those that have never played the game, it is a text-based courtroom adventure game. It's one of those Nintendo "Playing is Believing" sort of things.
Anyway, thought I'd share some t-shirt-specific Attorneying with you all today. First, a tutorial to easily create your own Phoenix Wright (or anything else) homebrew t-shirt. Second, a flickr album of said shirt in action. And check out the Okami hoodie! Very Nice!
